First photos and interview of Jackie’s wedding in Barbados
It takes a special boss – and an equally special group of salon staff – to close down for another staff member’s wedding. But that is exactly what happened July 14 – July 21, when the salon team hung up their scissors and blow dryers and headed south to Barbados to attend the wedding of color-tech Jackie to Averton Agard, held July 19 at Holetown Methodist Church.
Salon Founder and Creative Director Shiraz Datardina had the honor of giving away Jackie, a special moment he will not soon forget. “The biggest compliment a boss can have is to be asked to give away one of his long-time employees,” said Shiraz.
Jackie cannot say enough about Shiraz. “I was shocked and surprised that Shiraz cared enough about me to shut down the salon, travel all the way to Barbados and walk me down the aisle,” said Jackie. “I was so happy Shiraz was there along with my Coralettes (Colleen, Christina, Leslene) and Claire.”
The wedding party also included Shiraz’s sister,
Laila, Jackie’s three children (Shakir, Lamar and McKenna), and many other guests and friends.
